Construction of New Water Reservoirs in Limassol District
Progress of Water Reservoir Construction Works in Limassol
The EOA Lemesos informs the public that construction works for the water reservoirs in the areas of Ayios Athanasios, Kato Polemidia, Yermasoyia, and Ayia Fyla are progressing as planned.
These water reservoirs supply potable water to the wider Limassol District, ensuring the uninterrupted provision of adequate and high-quality water to both residential and industrial consumers. The construction of all reservoirs is fully funded by the EOA Lemesos.

Capacity: 2,000 m³
The first chamber of the reservoir, with a capacity of 1,000 m³ (Phase 1 of construction), has been completed and put into operation. The project is now in its second phase of implementation.

General excavation works and the installation of outlet and drainage pipelines beneath the foundation have been completed. The project is now in its second phase of implementation.

Construction works for water reservoirs in Limassol district are currently in progress, specifically two (2) water reservoirs in the Municipality of Amathus, one (1) water reservoir in the Ayia Fyla area, and one (1) water reservoir in Polemidia Municipality. In the area of Ayios Athanasios, the water reservoir under construction has a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres. The construction cost amounts to €839,300. The construction works for the project are expected to be completed in January 2025.
- In the area of Yermasoyia, the water reservoir under construction has a capacity of 4,000 cubic metres. The construction cost amounts to €1.7 million. The construction works for the project are expected to be completed in April 2026.
- In the area of Ayia Fyla, the water reservoir under construction has a capacity of 800 cubic metres. The construction works are expected to be completed in April 2026.
- In the area of Kato Polemidia, the water reservoir under construction has a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres. The construction cost amounts to €787,383. The construction works are expected to be completed in April 2026.
The construction of all the water reservoirs is fully funded by the Limassol District Local Government Organisation (EOA Lemesos).
The water reservoirs supply potable water to the wider Limassol District, ensuring the uninterrupted provision of an adequate quantity and satisfactory quality of water to both domestic and industrial consumers.
