Environmental Policy of the Limassol District Local Government Organisation (EOA Lemesos)

The Environmental Policy of the Limassol District Local Government Organisation aims to establish a framework that ensures proper environmental management by all those involved in the Organisation’s operations (employees, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, partners, etc.).

Through effective resource management and continuous improvement, the Organisation seeks to achieve environmental protection.

To accomplish this objective, the EOA Lemesos is committed to:

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) that identifies existing and potential environmental risks and establishes measures for their elimination, reduction, or control.
• Complying with applicable legislation and other environmental management requirements relevant to its scope of activities.
• Adhering to the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and the EMAS Regulation, including any amendments.
• Providing adequate training and awareness for personnel through specialised seminars and appropriate guidelines/procedures for proper environmental management.
• Allocating the necessary resources to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the EMS.
• Supporting consultation and communication mechanisms at all levels of the organisational structure, as well as with external stakeholders.
• Implementing measures and procedures to prevent pollution.
• Establishing measurable environmental management objectives, regularly reviewing them, and assessing their achievement and effectiveness.
• Ensuring the continuous improvement of both the EMS and environmental performance.
• Monitoring, documenting, and evaluating environmental protection measures while reviewing this policy to drive continuous improvement.

The Organisation's management is fully committed to implementing the above principles and the EMS across all EOA Lemesos activities.

This policy is strictly applicable to all employees across all organisational levels, as well as to all subcontractors, external partners, and suppliers.
